What letter spacing changes
Letter spacing, also called tracking, adds or removes space across a selection of characters. It can help shape a short slide heading or label. It differs from kerning, which adjusts individual letter pairs.
Read the Google Slides letter spacing guide for context and examples.
Privacy and compatibility
Your text and formatting stay in this tab. The tool does not upload or save them, access your account, or use analytics. Copy writes to your clipboard. Pasting into Slides sends the result to Google through Slides.
Use desktop Chrome over HTTPS. Other browsers and mobile are unverified. Partial selections, tables, links, lists, and embedded content are outside the verified workflow. Google’s clipboard format may change; the tool cannot verify the final clipboard or Slides result.
Best for single-paragraph text. Mixed formatting may add an extra blank paragraph.
Very large or complex text boxes are rejected. Long text may show only part of the preview; Copy keeps all accepted text. Complex scripts and joined characters can respond differently to spacing.
